Why do you use a health questionnaire?
The health questionnaire is designed to give me the basic health information about you and that information will be used to guide the treatment.
I have fever, can I still be massaged?
No, I won’t give you a massage if you have fever. When you have fever your body is working very hard to release toxins and bring you back into balance. A massage will release even more toxins into your blood, and your body will have to work even harder. It is better to rest and reschedule for another day.
I had an operation last month, can I be massaged?
This will depend on the nature of the surgery. If you have had surgery in the last 3 months I would ask you to check with your GP that he is happy for you to be massaged. Massage can help with water retention and swelling after surgery as it aids lymphatic drainage – but you will need your GP to advise when it is safe for you.
I have cancer, can I be massaged?
Having active cancer is usually seen as a contraindication to having a massage, although expert opinion differs in whether it is appropriate or not. If you have cancer please seek your GPs advice. With a GP consent letter and your consent I will massage you after we have discussed the different sides to the arguments.
I have been battling depression, can Raynor Massage help?
Yes, Raynor Massage is effective at helping to over come depression, the abdominal massage helps to get rid of deep set tension and this can include releasing you from experiences that may have led to your depression. When your chi, your life energy, flows freely then you feel more empowered and energised. Raynor massage can be an important part of your journey towards recovery.
I was drinking last night, can I still get a massage?
It depends on how much you had to drink. When toxins start to move around your body you can actually get drunk again during the massage, and this might be a bit uncomfortable. I would recommend not to have had any alcohol for at least 12 hours before the massage, preferably 24 hours.
I have the flu, can Raynor Massage help?
No, if you have a cold or the flu it is better to rest and let the body heal itself. I would recommend to reschedule for another day and get all the benefits from the massage then.
